School of Architecture and Civil Engineering

Amine-Abderrahim Foundation

The Department of Civil Engineering has a foundation with a total volume of approximately                            25,000 euros/year for supporting students. Special support can be granted to students with good performance or prospects of a foreseeable successful graduation, especially those who run into financial difficulties towards the end of their studies.

The foundation is named after the former Wuppertal student Amine Abderrahim. Amine Abderrahim came to Wuppertal from Algiers and studied civil engineering at our department from 1991 to 1998, graduating on March 23, 1998. During this time, he was particularly active in the student council for the interests of the students and contributed significantly to the integration of foreign students. In this way, Amine Abderrahim exemplified the positive spirit of Wuppertal's civil engineers. The foundation was named after him in his honor.
Amine Abderrahim tragically died in a motorcycle accident one year after graduating.
